What a fun neighborhood bar!  We stopped here for a quick lunch with a group of friends on a random Sunday afternoon.  Great burgers, lots of seating at big tables or the bar, plenty to drink and friendly staff.

There is outdoor seating that is cozy, plus dozens of TVs are perfect for the big game.  They have Keno and other games, I really had a good time here.

The burgers are great, get the tots instead of fries.  I'm sure there are other things on the menu that are good, honestly our whole group loved the food.  Overall, the Barrel Inn seems like a great local hangout.  We would eat here again for sure

Best burgers! Great little bar for burgers and drinks. Decent patio. Staff could be a touch more friendly, but excellent bar food.

Four of us visited the Barrel in July based on a recommendation of a local bartender - and she didn't steer us wrong.  We'd been on a motorcycle tour of the area and we were hungry and more than ready for lunch.

The bar was definitely lively - there was a college bar crawl group and this was obviously the last stop on their crawl! That group made the experience loud but the people watching was hysterical. TVs were abundant and the beers were icy cold. Our server was friendly, appropriately attentive, and efficient given the size of the crowd. Yes, it's loud. Yes it did get rowdy.  But it's a BAR after all - and a bar in a college town.  We expected it to be a fun spot.

We all had burgers - which were EXCELLENT!!!  The beef was flavorful and they're served on the softest pillowy buns. This is not the time or place to worry about your healthy eating goals.  You MUST, MUST, MUST have the beer battered fries. They are worth every calorie.

My husband and I continue to talk about our experience here and even talk about making the drive from southwest Chicago just to have lunch here.  We heartily recommend it!

Very good food excellent service the burgers are among the best you'll ever have. My only complaint is they do not take credit cards. If they took credit cards this location would Merit a 5-star review. I would like to bring clients here for business lunch however I'm required to put my business expenses on my credit card they have an ATM if you do not have cash on you to pay for your bill but as I said they do not take credit cards

I was told that this bar was a staple in La Crosse for years so I had to check it out. Away from the crazy bar scene of downtown La Crosse the The Barrell Inn or "Barrell" as the locals call it is a city gem. Warm, Cozy, great food & a happy eager to please staff. It's obvious from the week that I spent in La Crosse that fell in love with the place  as I had lunch and or dinner 4 times at the Barrell.

I recommend the Hangover sandwich, Barrell burger and the brew city fries...all excellent...and they have one of my new favorite beers on tap, Spotted cow. Lastly I would say that the attention to detail when it comes to lighting and television quality and placement is excellent, great for watching games. Lastly the Juke Box is state of the art and as diverse as the crowd that frequents the Barrell, something for everyone. I can't recommend it enough.
